I'm sure at one point, clogs and mules were really popular but sometimes they can come off looking a bit oldies.

Certain brands have taken the essence of a clog and adapted it to modern shoes, making them much more wearable and eye-catching.

Personally, I really love how clog-like shoes look, especially with maxi skirts. It gives it a bohemian vibe that can be mixed with a grungy punk style depending on how you accessorize. The combination just screams "carefree" to me.

Here are a few examples I've found and as always, they will range in price! The price that is listed below is retail price but a few of the shoes are currently on sale and can be found (sometimes) for a lower price based on where you buy them.

Jeffrey Campbell 'Charli C" $124.95

What to wear: Since this shoe is a brown suede and is closed-toed, I would recommend wearing a soft turquoise colored high-low skirt. Wearing a maxi skirt would cover too much of the shoe and could shorten your appearance. Wearing a high-low skirt means showcasing the front and back of the shoe and can lengthen the legs.

Steve Madden "Oaklee Cognac Leather" $99.95

What to wear: The shoe is quite chunky but it isn't a closed-toed shoe, like the first one. You could wear a maxi skirt, high-low skirt, a short flowy dress (one that flows straight from the shoulders), or a bodycon dress. Since it's chunky at the feet, wearing a bodycon (in black) or a shorter flowy dress can slim the upper body, balancing the outfit.

Steve Madden "Oliviia Coral Leather" $129.95

What to wear: The straps are much slimmer than the previous shoe and it's open toed! This shape of the shoe is much closer to a flatform than the rest. This type of shoe will go with most outfits but I recommend something that compliments the color. If you're colorblocking, a blue tone top/dress/bottom will be perfect!

Ecote "Leather and Wood Croc-Embossed Heel" $79

What to wear: Because this shoe looks like a flatform but has a small heel, it gives off a very innocent feel, especially in the white/nude color. Also, note that the straps have texture. Since the color is muted and the pattern is also subtle, I think playing around with patterns on the clothing will make it interesting. A pink floral flowy mini skirt and a crop top that hits the band of the skirt will look really cute with these shoes!

Kimchi Blue "Suede Chunky Wood Heel" $79

What to wear: The straps criss-cross in the front and the very tip of the shoe is square/flattened instead of round. Because of this, it would be an appropriate night time shoe. Since there's a platform, it would also be comfortable to walk in (theoretically). A plain black bodycon skirt/dress would work well. Wearing black tights would also make your legs look super long but I only recommend this if you're going for an all-black ensemble. I also don't think anything voluminous in the bottom half would look right with these shoes.

Hopefully this post helped and if you have any other ideas, please share them with me :)!

Until next time,

As promised! Here is my yummy Sunday Shoe Porn post!

Because... who doesn't love lusting over ridiculously priced shoes?...

Speaking of shoes, I bought the most perfect pair of flatforms (finally). They were from Sears by a brand called Trend Report. Originally $35, I bought them on sale for $19.99. Tell me that isn't a steal. The straps are comfortable, the height isn't bad at all, and the color is amazingly versatile. Everything I could ask for in a flatform...for 20 bucks. I almost cried.

I'll post a picture of them later when I get a chance to wear them.

For now, please enjoy these wonderful pictures of flats, wedges, and heels~

Alexander McQueen "Suede Skull Loafer" $645

Charlotte Olympia "Wire Heel Platform Sandal" $2395

Casadei "Cutout Platform Sandal" $995

Pour La-Victoire "Suede-Platform Sandal" $250

Reed Krakoff "Slingback Architect Wedge" $795

Lanvin "Metallic Python Wedge Sandal" $1193

Enzo Angiolini "Timga Color Block" $120

Nike "Free Run 3 Running Shoe" $100

Charlotte Olympia "Ankle Strap Pump" $945

Steve Madden "Traisie" $79.95

Not sure if you guys are completely sick of me posting pictures of shoes yet (I hope not!) but I think next time, I will do a post on shoes that I really dislike/can't stand. Look forward to it!

Until then,

If it isn't already obvious...I love shoes. I wish there was a job where all I would do is try on shoes and touch shoes and stare at shoes and breath shoes.

So today, I found a couple of awesome looking shoes to share with you guys!

They are (depending on your budget) a little expensive but, to me, shoes are an investment. If I'm spending the money, they better be something worth buying and something that will look good forever. I'm EXTREMELY picky when I buy shoes. It drives my sister nuts because we always go shoe shopping together and I almost always never buy anything... And then the shoes that I do love, I wear until they die and shatter to pieces.

But enough of my shoe rant. Here are the pictures!

Dolce Vita "Baxter" $189.00

All Caps "Amaranth" $334.95

B Store "Patty 1" $479.95

Dolce Vita "Girtie" $189.95

...I definitely have to own these babies one day.

Finsk "116-107" $689.95

Jeffrey Campbell "Rock Me" $159.95

This one is a no brainer. I love Jeffrey Campbell.

Matiko "Havanna" $219.95

Sam Edelman "Yelena" $134.95

AHHHH. How wonderful are they.

Until next time,

Don't start pointin' guns at me now, I just wanted to take a really small break from doing homework...

Anyway, I was on Ideeli.com and I basically found a pair of BCBGeneration shoes that I think I'm going to cry from. I can't get over it.

"Kammie" flatforms/platforms/wedges by BCBGeneration

They're on sale for $49.99 down from $89.99 and I am extremely gutted that they don't have my size anymore. {cries}

When wedges and platforms make babies, flatforms are born!

Lately, I have been completely obsessed with flatforms; they are perfect in every sense. For short people like me, it's the best option. I can get the height I want without the killer foot pains. They're like flats on steroids. Now, for all you fellow shoe lovers, I know that there are ways to make heels feel comfortable and there is a special kind of empowerment that goes along with wearing those 4 to 5 inch feet assassins BUT I'd take flatforms and wedges over heels any day.

For me, comfort has higher precedence over beauty. If I don't feel good, I won't look good. How can you confidently walk down that bumpy sidewalk without fearing that your skinny little heel will get stuck in one of those god forsaken cracks?? I certainly can't. And with that fear, how can I possible exude any confidence?

In terms of trends, I have no idea if flatforms are super popular. I've seen them at H&M and I'm sure there are other variations available elsewhere. But actually, the first time I tried a pair on, I was at a DSW in some tiny plaza. They were from Big Buddha, suede inside and out, and they just rolled across the ground. Completely easy to walk in. It was unbelievable. I fell hopelessly in love.

I honestly think these types of shoes would look amazing with anything. Peplum skirts, maxi dresses, crop tops, floral dresses, silver jewelry, gold jewelry, who cares?? They come in a ton of colors and heights and designs. I just...love them.

What do you think about them? Tacky? Weird? Let me know!

Until next time mon cherie,
