Well, as predicted, I am back after a month (technically a little over a month but no one is really keeping track, right?). In the blink of an eye, I feel as though my spring semester as a junior has flown by and before I know it, it will be spring break. Professors aren't lying when they say spring semesters go by quick.

I have been keeping busy with school projects and papers as well as work but that's pretty much my lame excuse for not blogging. I sincerely wish summer would come so that I would have time to blog more often as I did the past summer!

Anyway, the shoe selection at my workplace has switched to sandals. I am (as most are) eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring and warmer weather to grace us all but oddly enough, I haven't been all that excited about sandals and such. Lately, I've been pining away at sneakers.

No idea why.

In the past shopping trip, I bought two pairs of sneakers, one right after the other. I seriously didn't even realize I had already bought a pair until I returned to the car with my second pair and discovered the bag sitting in the back seat...

{sigh} problems of a shoe addict. I'm sure some of you will understand.

The whole point of this post isn't to serve as a platform for my ramblings or to talk about my crazy shoe obsession! Today, I will be sharing loads of pictures of flatform sneakers that I have been craving since the Fall season. Apologies if I'm a little late in the bandwagon but I hope you enjoy this nonetheless.

Aldo's Nezvalle

Aldo's Mutou

Urban Outfitter's Y.R.U. Merk Elevation Flatform Sneaker

Nasty Gal's Zomg Platform Sneaker in Cosmic

MissKL's Jeffrey Campbell Hiya Sneaker in White Chain

SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Homg in Black Floral

SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Homg Stud in Black Suede Black

SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Tronic in Light Pink Croco White

SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Kirk in Bone Black

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So this has somehow turned into a Jeffrey Campbell Appreciation Post...not that I have a problem with that (hopefully, you don't either).
If it so happens that I end up straying away from my blog again, I promise to come back within a month. Most likely, I'll be coming up with some outfits for the spring/summer months in the next post so look forward to that :)
Speaking of shoes, I know in my last post I wrote something about sketching shoes and while I still have great interests, I haven't made much progress. BUT!
Here is one of them. I don't take credit for the design. I was actually inspired by a project that one of my classmates did in a Visual Merchandising class last semester and decided to draw it because I loved it so much.
Please ignore the embrace-the-relaxed-college-student-lifestyle hairdo and my choice of attire (two thumbs up for Big Bang Theory fans!).
Let me know how you guys have been and what you think of these shoes. I honestly love them but I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea or coffee or whatever caffeinated beverage you choose to consume.
See you all soon!
Online window shopping is probably the best thing that ever happened to the Internet but it can be heart-wrenching if you're like me: a broke unemployed college student and a cheapo to boot.
But that won't stop me from looking! And spending hours obsessing and praying that someone will just drop a check off in my mailbox for a total of $500 million.
Barnes and Noble Art of Edo Japan
Steve Madden ELTONN BRIGHT MULTI in 6.5
Jeffrey Campbell Skulltini Black-Gold in 6.5
Nasty Gal Spiked Crossbody Bag in Black
Nikon 1 J1 in White
1) I don't remember if I mentioned it on this blog or on my tumblr, but I still want that Art of Edo Japan book by Christine Guth. Because learning and reading is rad.
2) I came across these shoes at a Marshall's a while ago and they were only $19.99 but they didn't have my size. Naturally, I was unbelievably gutted because these shoes were so comfortable and so funky. I loved them.
3) Tiny gold skulls...Jeffrey Campbell...flats...This shoe is so perfect, I just want to weep tears every time I see it. But the price has me weeping too.
4) Handbags were never my "thing" but this one is a beaut. So many textures going on with the fur on the front flap, the silver chain, the leather, and the studs. My hands are tempted to reach right into my Macbook screen and caress it...
5) I wanted this camera since it first came out. Crazy sleek silhouette and the white is so classic and modern. I can only dream! Or save up, which is the more realistic and time consuming option.
What are your must haves or wish-you-could-haves for this month?
Until next time,
{kissies for all}
A few years ago, I began noticing the ombre trend and recently, it seems that people are starting to get into it again.
Personally, I love ombre anything but I'm picky about color choices and how it actually fades. I find that sometimes, it can end up looking too tacky (which is true for a lot of things...) and that really puts me off.
Denim, however, is a super popular medium for ombre and I think ombre shorts are the perfect way to kick off the summer. Sadly, where I live, it hasn't exactly been prime weather for wearing shorts or anything summery for that matter :( {sniffles}
But hopefully you live somewhere much warmer and less rainy than I do!
Here is an example of how I'd style ombre shorts:
Let me know in the comments below what you think and how you'd style this trend!
I love a lot of shoes, if that isn't already obvious. But some shoes really irk me.
Sometimes it's the shape, sometimes it's the height...
Jeffrey Campbell "Coltrane" $184.95
The shape of the shoe near the toe area bugs me. It's too round and too bulky. I'm not feeling the color combo either. I think if the front side parts had cut outs too, it would look much better.
To Be Announced "Bound" $159.95
The color of the shoe is horrendously cheap looking. But that's pretty much all I dislike about it.
To Be Announced "Whips" $299.95
I'm not the biggest fan of cowboy boots because I find that there's a fuzzy line between cute and rodeo-esque. The studs kind of just...killed it.
Substitute "Floam" $129.95
There is nothing more that I hate than a pair of shoes that remind me of hookers. But that's not really even the issue here. I just can't stand this overwhelming excessive height. The heel is a block because it's more of a flatform than a wedge. It just looks very odd to me.
Underground "Quad Shoe" $274.95
Same deal as the previous one. Creepers are okay. I don't think I'd ever wear them but they do look good on some people. The problem I have with this is that the height is at an awkward place...not too tall but it's not that short either.
See by Chloe "SB18070" $194.95
I hate these shoes. I hate them a lot. I'm okay with espadrilles in wedge form, occasionally. But these just look cheap and raggedy.
Fendi "Bow Slide Sandal" $475
I love the color combo and the bow but I can't stand the sandal shape. These types of sandals just... ack.
Manolo Blahnik "Irie" $645
The first thing I noticed was the heel shape. It's almost... curvy? I hate that. Second, I really don't like the combination of slingback and pointy toed...This shoe just screams prim and proper and it's just not my thing.
Ivanka Trump "Aida" $134.95
Color is okay for summer. Again, the pointy toe. And kitten heels just bother me. The shoe itself looks pretty stiff too. Ouchies.
Attilio Giusti Leombruni "Platform Slide" $365
I don't even know how to describe why I dislike this shoe. The shoe is a little too wide and the straps are too wide. I think this type of shoe would only end up "fattening" the size of your foot.
Minnetonka "Concho Feather" $49.95
I don't have anything against Minnetonka moccasins but this is just really ugly. {lol} There's no shape to this shoe. It really just looks like a suede pillow case for your feet.
Paloma Barcelo "Sandal" $249.95
The straps are too busy (the design) and they look like they would hurt to wear. Like it would rub against your foot the wrong way. Second, the colors are all over the place and I don't think they're very complementary. It's just too much.
Now, I don't hate all shoes that have those certain qualities.
Kate Spade New York "Ginger" $345
This is one example. I love the shape of the shoe and the heel. Suede is always amazing and the color combination is beautiful. I normally don't like overly strappy shoes but this works. The criss-crossing is done more near the front of the foot and the size of the straps are good.
Jimmy Choo "Vega" $525
Again, this is totally okay. I would love to own this shoe even though the toe is a bit on the pointy side and the heel is a bit short. It's just enough to be classy and not short enough to be considered a kitten heel. The front is pointy but it has a rounder quality. The leather also tones it down a bit. If it were patent, I might have other thoughts.
Jeffrey Campbell "Homg" Sneaker $64.95
This is also acceptable. The height is in that middle area but I think because it's a high top sneaker, and one solid color, it doesn't feel quite as strange. Rather, I think worn with black bottoms it would elongate the leg.
What do you guys think? What types of shoes would you die being seen in?
Until next time,
If it isn't already obvious...I love shoes. I wish there was a job where all I would do is try on shoes and touch shoes and stare at shoes and breath shoes.
So today, I found a couple of awesome looking shoes to share with you guys!
They are (depending on your budget) a little expensive but, to me, shoes are an investment. If I'm spending the money, they better be something worth buying and something that will look good forever. I'm EXTREMELY picky when I buy shoes. It drives my sister nuts because we always go shoe shopping together and I almost always never buy anything... And then the shoes that I do love, I wear until they die and shatter to pieces.
But enough of my shoe rant. Here are the pictures!
Dolce Vita "Baxter" $189.00
All Caps "Amaranth" $334.95
B Store "Patty 1" $479.95
Dolce Vita "Girtie" $189.95
...I definitely have to own these babies one day.
Finsk "116-107" $689.95
Jeffrey Campbell "Rock Me" $159.95
This one is a no brainer. I love Jeffrey Campbell.
Matiko "Havanna" $219.95
Sam Edelman "Yelena" $134.95
AHHHH. How wonderful are they.
Until next time,
{mmmmmuah}
