Hi guys,

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything and I am not trying to make excuses. There are a few things happening right now that have greater importance so I'm focusing on that. But I don't want to leave my blog hanging so today, we are doing another post for the From the Big Screen #FTBS series! By request, I am styling outfits from the movies, Me Before You. I have yet to see it but it looks like an interesting romance movie (which I am always down for!).

Leave it down below or tweet me @asmallbit what movie I should do next :)

I won't bore you guys with long winded explanations but basically, I took inspiration from each of these snippets from the movie to create outfits with a similar feel. Some are more 'accurate' than others. Which one was your favorite?

Hello!

Have you guys been well? This is going to be my first official post marking the beginning of a fabulous homework-free summer. Yayyy, cue the fanfare and majestic cheers.

Even though I've been SUPER busy with school, you know there's always time for window shopping and the warm weather could not have gotten here sooner. I am so excited to wear flowy skirts and bright colors. Ah, bliss.

So I will kick start this summer with a post on my spring/summer wishlist items, just bits and bobs that I'd really love to buy (mainly because they're so cute and/or gorgeous).

Okay enough with my mini ranting, I hope you enjoy this post and of course, let me know what you're most excited for this summer!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Floral Chambray Romper with Belt
Black Cat Crop Top
Julep Dress
Flower Print Dress
Sierra Bag
Buckle Sandal
Josie Wedge
Soiree Platform
Alexi Studded Oxford
Is anyone else totally obsessed with white shoes during the summer? I just love how clean it looks.
If you liked any of these, just click on the name of the product and it'll take you directly to the product page. I think hands down my favorite color for this season is a coral/orange fusion because the warm tone looks great on tanned skin and because it's really pretty.
...and I'll leave it at that!
Came across this interest-piquing article on Styleite.com that revealed several photos of the Big Day for these famous fashion designers and thought I would share it with you guys!
If you would like to see the full article, click here.
DIANE VON FURSTENBERG
I wouldn't personally wear a fur vest on my wedding day unless it was mother of god cold outside but this suits her!
----------------------------------------
VICTORIA BECKHAM
Victoria Beckham looks so gorgeous in that simple Vera Wang dress but both of their hairstyles just screams 90s.
----------------------------------------
VERA WANG
This picture is like a glimpse into her life from the past. Something so beautiful about people on their wedding days!
----------------------------------------
CAROLINA HERRERA
What a quirky dress. It has a slight bubble effect going on at the waist and it has a collar!
----------------------------------------
DONNA KARAN
To me, it looks more like she's wearing something to go on vacation but the all white, sequins, and pearls help elevate it a bit. The hat, though, definitely makes it slightly casual but I kind of like that. Plus, she's radiating.
----------------------------------------
RACHEL ZOE
For Rachel Zoe's wedding, she wore Isaac Mizrahi. Unlike the previous pictures, Zoe is donning something a little closer to what we traditionally think of when a wedding dress comes up. The neckline is a bit deeper than I expected but she still looks amazing.
----------------------------------------
NANETTE LEPORE
Lepore chose to wear a Salvation Army dress. Absolutely vintage, with all the lace and how conservative it is but the little collar brooch is really adorable.
----------------------------------------
PAMELA LOVE
One of my faves. I like the silhouette, the flowers in her hair, the flow, the open bits with the criss crossing. Very bohemian.
----------------------------------------
KATE SPADE
Spade is sporting a Cynthia Rowley dress. Don't particularly like this one because it reminds me of a homecoming or prom dress. However, she does manage to look very nice in it and probably the little sweater she's wearing helps tone down the silver in the dress.
----------------------------------------
JILL STUART
Stuart chose to wear Christian Lacroix. It's a short dress, off the shoulder, buttons down the middle and rose detailing in the front. Not your average wedding dress, certainly, but it has its charms.
----------------------------------------
CYNTHIA ROWLEY
Adorable short lace dress with a black foundation. Modern style dress in all senses but the lace does have a vintage feel to it. I love how happy she looks too. What a fun picture!
----------------------------------------
What did you guys think of their dresses? Seem appropriate based on their own design aesthetic? Let me know down below!
Hands down, my favorite decade for style is the 1970s: the hippie, boho chic vibe.
It's no wonder my favorite designer brand is Emilio Pucci...but I'll save that for another post :)
Needless to say, I have been getting seriously obsessed with wide sleeved and loose fitting dresses. The silhouette is free flowing and by nature, emits a bohemian feel. Nastygal.com happens to have an enormous selection of such dresses (so I've been naughtily window shopping practically everyday since the beginning of this week...).
I have found these types of dresses in other places like Free People and Modcloth. Essentially, there are quite a few brands who make dresses like this but I'm surprised to say that I found more of them at Nastygal than at Free People.
WITHOUT FURTHER ADO...
El Matador Dress by Jen's Pirate Booty
Starling Dress by Dolce Vita
Paisley Lace Dress
Faithful Dress in White by MinkPink
Valeria Silk Dress by For Love & Lemons
Bella Crochet Dress
FP ONE Embroidered Flamenco Dress
A Different Beatnik Dress
My favorite one is the Faithful Dress in White because the color is so clean and pure, the lace adds a nice feminine touch, and the silhouette is just appealing to my eye. I don't know; sometimes there really isn't a way to explain why you like something. You just like it!
Let me know down below which one you like the most! I always try to reply to each of your comments so be sure to check back often to see :)
Maybe it's just me but I've been seeing loads of dresses that have a knot in the middle, creating two open spaces at the sides. Is it a trend? Not really sure but either way, I think it's a fresh take on the cut out dress as well as the 90's knot.
The several variations I've seen of this dress consist of basic colors, ombres, and prints. Strangely enough, Asos even has a shirt version of this.
Renegade Dress
River Island's Twist Waist Jersey Dress
Double Knot Dress in Sky Blue
Knotted Line Dress
Rare's Twist Front Tank
Frontin Cutout Dress
Nightfall Maxi Dress
As you can see, there are quite a few variations: long sleeved, short sleeved, maxi length, shorter length, printed, ombre.
The twist knot just adds a cute touch, something unexpected. I would probably layer this with a chunky sweater for the cooler months but having a little skin peeking out would be quite adorable. I don't recommend wearing this to school. It's most definitely a trendy...wear with your friends in a casual setting kind of dress or a go out for drinks.
What do you guys think about this? Would you wear it?
Until next we meet,
{kisses}
I was at Old Navy with my mom the other day and she was browsing through the clearance kids' section for some clothes to send to our little cousins in California. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed looking through the merchandise, picking out outfits, and just remembering what it was like for me as a kid.
I think children's clothing has progressed and changed (of course) a great deal since I was young. All I can really remember is corduroy overalls and sailor dresses but a big majority of children's clothing now is a mini imitation version of their adult counterparts. That, and graphic tees.
So from this little experience, I decided to sift through a few online websites to see what kinds of kids clothing was offered. I was hoping for a little more creativity but the adorable scale of the clothing makes up for it, I guess? Granted, I didn't do extensive research or anything so my thoughts on this could be completely skewed.
If you have a kid, a sibling, a cousin, or anyone in your life who is much younger than you, then this post might help you come up with some ideas for presents and such.
Otherwise, please think of this post as one for your viewing pleasure! Because the clothes are just so darn cute.
Knit Denim Romper from The Children's Place $12
Little Marc Jacobs "Karlita Ruffle-Front Shimmer Cardigan & Miss Marc Peek-A-Boo Dress" $70, $80
Elaine et Lena "Vitoria Cotton Voile Jersey Dress & Londrina Ruffle Bloomers" $45, $7
Helena "Floral Print Dress" $112-$131
Cach Cach "Giraffe Beanie Cap, Giraffe-Patch One Piece & Giraffe Blanket, Infant" $25-$28
Burberry "Mini Gabardine Shortsuit" $281-$318, $93-$108
UGG Australia "Lil Chuck Boot" $45
Gucci "Coda High-Top Lace-Up Sneaker" $235
Even though I love shoes to death, my favorite part about children's apparel is the dresses! I almost can't wait until I have my own kids... Well, maybe it's too early for that? {laugh laugh}
Until next,
{chuuuu}
