Have you ever watched a TV show and thought, "wow, I really understand what XYZ is going through"? After rewatching Friends for the 100th time on Netflix, I realized how much I related to the characters. That's probably also why it's such an easy show to rewatch.

What are these 'life lessons', you ask?

I've gathered a couple of my favorite moments in the show and hope that you get something out of this post (besides a few chuckles).

via GIPHY
#1: Be proud of your body! It doesn't matter what size or color or shape you are. Don't let others make you feel inferior about it. EMBRACE YOURSELF!!

via GIPHY
#2: Don't be afraid to say no. It can be easy to tell a white lie and try to do a favor for a friend or get involved with something you don't believe in. You don't always have to reject a prospect in a negative way-- be honest about what YOU want.

via GIPHY
#3: Be proud of who you are. Don't grovel. Don't belittle yourself or your abilities. Have some confidence! You are amazing!!

via GIPHY
#4: So you may not be the smoothest when it comes to dating or flirting. So what? I say, be your weird awkward self! You'll be much happier to find someone who appreciates all your quirky personality traits.

via GIPHY
#5: Safety first. Don't get in the car with a drunk friend. Don't get in the car with a friend who can't drive. And always, always have your seatbelt on!

via GIPHY
#6: The world is a wonderful and magical place. But bad things happen. People die. Diseases exist. Poverty exists! It's a harsh reality and I think sometimes, it's important to take a step back from your own life to remember that.

via GIPHY
#7: Teamwork is important! There are things you can accomplish in a group that you can't do just on your own.

via GIPHY
#8: Be sincere. Whether you are apologizing or telling a story or getting to know someone, be sincere in whatever you do.

via GIPHY
#9: Celebrate your achievements! It can be something small like finishing a crossword puzzle on your own or something big like finishing your research project for grad school or something super big like crossing the finish line in a marathon! There can be so many moments in your life to be grateful for...be proud!

via GIPHY
#10: Own up to your mistakes. We're human. We mess up sometimes (or a lot of the times) but it's okay. This is how we grow and become better versions of ourselves. On that note, also don't be afraid to fail! The road to success starts with failure.

via GIPHY
#11: You're going to have some bad days. Let's be real here. It can be tough to stay positive and happy when that happens. But it's never good to send out negative vibes. Don't take your anger, frustration, or sadness OUT on somebody else. DO talk to someone about your feelings and find healthy ways to release those emotions (e.g. boxing, cycling, running, painting).

Okay, YOUR TURN! Tell me your favorite moments from Friends in the comments below :)

Happy 2017! First off, I know I haven't been consistently blogging lately. I tweeted about it a little but basically, I haven't had any motivation to make fashion-related posts. I've also been traveling here and there, trying to figure out my post-graduate plans. It's not an excuse but at least this way, you aren't so left in the dark about my whereabouts.

Secondly, I have renamed my blog (as well as my other social media handles). I really wanted everything to come together in a cohesive way so that it's easier for you guys to find me. So be sure to check out the side panel if you want to follow me on Twitter or Instagram (or the other platforms).

This is the first post of 2017 and I want to kick it off with a recap on 2016 as well as what's been going on in my life.

~~~~~~~~
one. I finished my Master's in Communication! It was a lot of hard work and despite all the times I wish I hadn't gone back to school, I don't regret my decision at all.
two. I went to Seoul, South Korea. Twice. So much fun, honestly. The food was amazing, the people were kind, and the shopping is just insane.
three. I had a wonderful Christmas celebration with my friends. We did Secret Santa for the first time as a group and surprisingly, everyone was really happy with their gifts! Phew.
four. My family bought plane tickets for a post-Christmas trip to California.
~~~~~~~~

one. We went on a ten day trip to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. This was my first time in SF and I absolutely loved it. Minus the fact that I caught a bad cold and the plane ride back was just crap, the SF trip was so beautiful. The hustle and bustle of the city, the tourist traps, the food...I regret not being able to stay longer.

two. I bought a scratch ticket to test out my luck for the new year and won $100. First time that's ever happened. Nice.

three. My boyfriend spoiled me with a 3DS for Christmas and to top it all off, he bought me Pokemon Platinum! For those of you that play, you know, the newer Pokemon games have a completely different look. I personally prefer the older, classic style because it's cuter and less...creepily realistic? Have you guys played Pokemon Platinum and if so, who did you choose as your starter? #TeamChimchar

four. I went to the dentist recently and was told that all four of my wisdom teeth need to be taken out. Timing couldn't have been better. Totally dreading this.

five. Mystery bags. Mystery boxes. Mystery anything. I am SO obsessed. I think it probably began when I first tried those 'gatcha' machines in Seoul. You put money in and get some random toy. You don't know which one you'll get. The thrill of not knowing but also the possibility of getting something you really want makes these mystery boxes so addicting! Slowly, my collection of cute but impractical objects has grown. Just recently, I opened a Disney one to find this adorable Tigger. So worth my $3.

~~~~~~~~
Well that's all I have for you today. It feels good to write again and hope to be able to write more this year! I'm going to end this lengthy post with some of my New Year's Resolutions!
>> Find a job, move out, and be more courageous.
Well, as predicted, I am back after a month (technically a little over a month but no one is really keeping track, right?). In the blink of an eye, I feel as though my spring semester as a junior has flown by and before I know it, it will be spring break. Professors aren't lying when they say spring semesters go by quick.
I have been keeping busy with school projects and papers as well as work but that's pretty much my lame excuse for not blogging. I sincerely wish summer would come so that I would have time to blog more often as I did the past summer!
Anyway, the shoe selection at my workplace has switched to sandals. I am (as most are) eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring and warmer weather to grace us all but oddly enough, I haven't been all that excited about sandals and such. Lately, I've been pining away at sneakers.
No idea why.
In the past shopping trip, I bought two pairs of sneakers, one right after the other. I seriously didn't even realize I had already bought a pair until I returned to the car with my second pair and discovered the bag sitting in the back seat...
{sigh} problems of a shoe addict. I'm sure some of you will understand.
The whole point of this post isn't to serve as a platform for my ramblings or to talk about my crazy shoe obsession! Today, I will be sharing loads of pictures of flatform sneakers that I have been craving since the Fall season. Apologies if I'm a little late in the bandwagon but I hope you enjoy this nonetheless.
Aldo's Nezvalle
Aldo's Mutou
Urban Outfitter's Y.R.U. Merk Elevation Flatform Sneaker
Nasty Gal's Zomg Platform Sneaker in Cosmic
MissKL's Jeffrey Campbell Hiya Sneaker in White Chain
SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Homg in Black Floral
SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Homg Stud in Black Suede Black
SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Tronic in Light Pink Croco White
SoleStruck's Jeffrey Campbell Kirk in Bone Black
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So this has somehow turned into a Jeffrey Campbell Appreciation Post...not that I have a problem with that (hopefully, you don't either).

If it so happens that I end up straying away from my blog again, I promise to come back within a month. Most likely, I'll be coming up with some outfits for the spring/summer months in the next post so look forward to that :)

Speaking of shoes, I know in my last post I wrote something about sketching shoes and while I still have great interests, I haven't made much progress. BUT!

Here is one of them. I don't take credit for the design. I was actually inspired by a project that one of my classmates did in a Visual Merchandising class last semester and decided to draw it because I loved it so much.

Please ignore the embrace-the-relaxed-college-student-lifestyle hairdo and my choice of attire (two thumbs up for Big Bang Theory fans!).

Let me know how you guys have been and what you think of these shoes. I honestly love them but I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea or coffee or whatever caffeinated beverage you choose to consume.

See you all soon!

Hello to you! I am currently trapped inside the house as there is a blizzard happening outside. It's been another month since I've posted anything and I SERIOUSLY am frowning upon myself for that.

But here I am! For a festive return.

Except not.

I thought I'd put together a little black ensemble for this gloomy day. I hope you like how I styled it. Let me know what you think.

Black on Black

Lately, I've been interested in reading (yes, actual books). Just finished a book by Ira Neimark, which talked about Bergdorf Goodman and Neimark's life lessons. Quite a fun read if you like fashion so I recommend that.

Also been into sketching shoes. I am an absolute novice at this but I want to keep practicing. Maybe when I'm more confident, I will post some of them here for you to see!

As always, have a wonderful rest of the day (or month...depending on when I'll be back, harhar).

Ahhhh. Why is this becoming my life blog?

Same old story. Busy with school. Work. and sleeping, obviously. I just haven't had any time to update. I feel so behind with everything and it's stressing me out. But!

I just added some magazine clippings to my dorm wall, which makes everything a little better, especially since one of them has llamas in it. or alpacas. I can't really tell. Either way.

Recently, for a group project, we did a window display for Goodwill. Admittedly, that's a pretty awesome thing to be able to say. Not sure if I'd ever have a career in visual merchandising but it was an experience, at least.

I also turned 21. Celebratory moment in my life. Except not, because I had work that evening.

I have a shirt with a bunny on it. Rabbit?

Another project for my visual class! This picture doesn't show the completed look but close enough. Yayyy for shoes and word puns.

Asian birthday cake! Because it's impossible to eat anything else on your birthday...

The best shirt ever. EVER.

I hope your week has been going amazingly! I'm getting sadder and sadder as the weather gets progressively colder. But no fear! This is the perfect excuse to go out and buy tons of boots :)

Let me know down below your favorite boot trend/boot you own!

This post is going to be a little update and an OOTD. I'm going back to college tomorrow (woohoo??!) so I plan on doing a bit of grocery shopping for snacks and bits like that today as well as packing.

The weather today isn't particularly cold; it's around 70 degrees F at most but supermarkets tend to get really cold and I don't fare well in that kind of "weather" so knit sweaters are amazing for those times.

Sweater: F21
Jeggings: Stole from my sister

The pictures basically suck. Let's be real here.

I'm wearing jeggings, which you can't even really tell but they're a dark gray color with fake front and back pockets.

and I have no clue what the policy is for whether or not you can take pictures of Buddhas but I took a picture of my necklace anyway. Mum says this year my luck is a bit..well..not great? So I wear this as protection.

As for shoes...No idea!

--------------------

UPDATE!
I have no idea how busy I'll be due to school so I may not be able to put up a post everyday like I have been doing thus far. :'( tears are being weeped.

Once I get into the swing of things, I should be able to figure out how to post more often but until then, I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day and rest of September! :)

Hello everyone! I hope this week has been awesome for you :)

A few days ago, my dad turned another year older and the whole family went out for lunch at a dim sum place to celebrate. Since it wasn't that far of a walk, I decided to dress up a little bit more than usual.

So here is an OOTD!

Sorry for the editing action going on there; totally did not like my face at that moment.

OUTFIT BREAKDOWN:

Earrings: Forever21
Top: Forever21
Skirt: Forever21
Belt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Target
Bag: Old Navy

Alright, that's it! Hope you enjoyed this :)

Until next time,

How are you guys?? It's only been a few days but it literally feels like it's been forever since I've last written anything on here.

Just had my last day of classes as a sophomore and finished all my finals today. Kind of been relaxing and doing some last minute packing for the past few days, which is why I haven't posted anything yet.

Hmm.

What have you guys been up to lately? Spot any cool trends you want to share? Let me know!

As for when my next post will be, I will probably try to post something this weekend once I get home.

And maybe a little rant...fashion-related, of course. A little bit of my college life crisis, too. So that should be interesting.

Until the weekend,
{kiss kiss}

{fanfare and other loud celebratory sounds!!!}

I cannot wait.

In the meantime, I will do my best to post something for next week. Please look forward to it :)

Until then,

Maybe it's just me but everywhere (and literally, I mean everywhere), people always refer to using a colored accessory or just one colored piece of clothing to bring some life into an outfit as "a pop of color" and after hearing that phrase from EVERY beauty guru and fashion guru on this planet, my head is about to explode.

I'm begging you guys... isn't there a new and fresh way of saying "pop of color"?! Oh... like... "a burst of color" ??

I don't know. Just throwin' this quick post out there since I will probably be secluding myself for the next few hours trying to finish all of my DARN papers and presentations.

Until whenever!
{kiss kisses}
