Mother's Day is coming up soon so I wanted to do this post + give you guys plenty of time to start shopping! Here are FIVE gift ideas that every mom will love.

~~~
ONE - Photos
Printiki is a photo printing service where you can upload pictures directly from your computer/laptop or from social media like Instagram! It's very easy to use. You can sign in with a guest account or with Facebook, Google, etc. From there, you sign into an account to access photos or upload directly from your computer. Once they are loaded, you can add text or crop before you add them to your cart.
There's a variety of options in terms of the photos themselves. You can do square photos or rectangular photos and they also come in a retro form. You can also opt for photo books or posters if you don't want the traditional single photos. These make wonderful gifts since you can personalize them to whomever you are gifting them to.
I created a set of my own prints for my mom, with pictures of our family and places we've traveled to. I think pictures are such an intimate gift...you can't go wrong with this!
TWO - Tieks (or other comfortable flats)
If you're a mom or you are close with your mom, you'll know how tough it is to run back and forth getting things done. Whether it's driving to a soccer game, picking up groceries, or even working 8 hours a day, your mom deserves the best for her feet.
In come the Tieks.
tieks, flats, shoes, footwear, bronze, comfortable
These are buttery, soft, cushiony flats that are not only comfortable but also versatile, travel-friendly, and fashionable.
I personally love the bronze color, esp for summer because it looks so good with a tan. But they have like a million colors to choose from so chances are, you'll find one that she likes.
Don't want to splurge $195 for flats? Here are a couple of other alternatives to check out: 1 / 2 / 3
THREE - Personalized gift box
Nothing screams 'well thought out' more than a personalized gift. By creating your own gift box, you can put virtually anything you want inside that she has been wanting to try or uses on the daily.
You can also do it based on a theme like spa day or movie night, depending on what she likes. Other ideas include a gardening theme, painting theme, and photography theme.
Pop in some paint brushes, acrylic paint, mini canvases, her favorite tea/coffee, and maybe a gift card to a painting event in the local area-- you've got a personalized present that she will actually use.
FOUR - Best mom mug
It's a little cheesy, I know. But what mom doesn't want to hear they're the best?
After slaving away all day, she can kick back with a nice hot drink in her new mug. Sounds like a winner to me!
Here are three that I found on Etsy: 1 / 2 / 3
FIVE - Homecooked meal
Your mom may be the world's best cook. Now's your chance to show her you've inherited her skills (or at least paid attention once or twice while she was whipping up those meals).
There are some simple ways to plate your food so that they look fancier and more time-consuming than they actually are.
For instance, set the table with candles, clean silverware, and white plates. It'll give it a fresher look! Or go with a theme and set everything in a similar color palette.
Adding a sprig of an herb or freshly ground pepper right at the end can also make a dish look more put together.
Here are a couple of SUPER EASY recipes that you can do, whether you are a pro or not:
Quinoa & Avocado Salad / Cod Arrabbiata Pasta / Chicken Lettuce Wraps / Breakfast Pizza / Bang Bang Shrimp
** Not sponsored, I just really like her videos! **
Buzzfeed Tasty also has a ton of great recipes on their Facebook and YouTube page so be sure to check it out if you need more meal inspirations.
Hello my dears, I hope your week has been well! I can't believe it's already April. Half the year will have gone by before I know it. Anyway I'm back with another post for the Obsessed series where I share with you shoes that I am loving for the season. I decided to do something a little bit different this time and include both high end and low end options. Links to everything are down below.
As usual, sit back and relax and enjoy the eye candy!
(1) Shellys London Emma Platform $119.95
(2) McQ Chatsworth Calf Hair Oxford $$685
(3) Tod's Platform Wingtip $675
(4) AGL Pearl Slip On $495
(5) Simone Rocha Embellished Lace Up Oxford $1,320
(6) Vince Camuto Salisa Oxford Flat $118.95
~~~~~~

(1) Aldo Leishman Oxford $74.95
(2) Steve Madden TripIt $79.95
(3) Forever21 Faux Leather Platform $34.90
(4) BC Footwear Vivid Oxford $59.95
(5) Forever21 Perforated Faux Leather $19.99
(6) Forever21 Metallic Faux Patent Oxfords $22.99

*Prices may change or vary depending on when you check the website*

~~~~~~
I really like the way that oxfords add a bit of masculinity in an outfit and because they're such a "posh" shoe, it can also elevate a more casual look. As you can see in some of the ones I've selected, not all oxfords have to be chunky or manly; there are many styles that incorporate feminine details and would work wonderfully with Spring dresses and skirts!
Some of the trends for oxfords include platforms, embellishments, perforations, and cut outs. My favorite would be #5 in the high end options and #1 in the low end options. Which ones did you like the most? What other shoes are you into for this Spring? I'd love to hear your thoughts so leave them down below! Or Tweet me using the hashtag #ObsessedforSpring :)
Online window shopping is probably the best thing that ever happened to the Internet but it can be heart-wrenching if you're like me: a broke unemployed college student and a cheapo to boot.
But that won't stop me from looking! And spending hours obsessing and praying that someone will just drop a check off in my mailbox for a total of $500 million.
Barnes and Noble Art of Edo Japan
Steve Madden ELTONN BRIGHT MULTI in 6.5
Jeffrey Campbell Skulltini Black-Gold in 6.5
Nasty Gal Spiked Crossbody Bag in Black
Nikon 1 J1 in White
1) I don't remember if I mentioned it on this blog or on my tumblr, but I still want that Art of Edo Japan book by Christine Guth. Because learning and reading is rad.
2) I came across these shoes at a Marshall's a while ago and they were only $19.99 but they didn't have my size. Naturally, I was unbelievably gutted because these shoes were so comfortable and so funky. I loved them.
3) Tiny gold skulls...Jeffrey Campbell...flats...This shoe is so perfect, I just want to weep tears every time I see it. But the price has me weeping too.
4) Handbags were never my "thing" but this one is a beaut. So many textures going on with the fur on the front flap, the silver chain, the leather, and the studs. My hands are tempted to reach right into my Macbook screen and caress it...
5) I wanted this camera since it first came out. Crazy sleek silhouette and the white is so classic and modern. I can only dream! Or save up, which is the more realistic and time consuming option.
What are your must haves or wish-you-could-haves for this month?
Until next time,
{kissies for all}
As summer rolls around, more and more graduates, college students, and high school students are scrambling to look for jobs. While appropriately dressing for the interview is important, first impressions are equally, if not more, crucial.
Going into a store or a company to ask about job opportunities and openings may be the first instance of contact between you and a potential employer. Another instance comes from handing in the application. Sometimes you won't even have a chance to meet them until they contact you for an interview because a growing number of companies are switching to online applications.
I always recommend going to see them in person because they can't see who you are just from an online application.
Dressing nicely, cleanly, and appearing well-groomed will give the employer the impression that you are serious about the job.
Below are some outfits I put together as reference. Depending on the type of job, I don't think it's a bad idea to dress true to your own style but keep in mind that it would be a good idea to maintain a streamlined image.
First Impressions
First Impressions by asmallbit featuring knot earrings
In order for the employer to remember you (assuming there are many job applicants), wear something (accessory-wise) that sparks interest! This can be a subtle necklace with a unique pendant or a pair of earrings that represent some type of hobby (i.e. anchor studs, studs in the shape of heels) but nothing tacky or childish.
Iron your clothes the night before and polish your shoes! Don't wear too much perfume, as it can offend the other person.
Keep nails clean or painted in a neutral color.
Makeup should also be very natural but bring out your best features.
If you're bringing in an application, make sure the papers are crisp and not wrinkled or smudged.
I also recommend carrying around your resume and a list of references.
My last tip would be to just have confidence in yourself! If you look like you know what you want and what you're doing, the employer will recognize it.
I'm not an expert at how to dress for these kinds of situations but these are just my own personal tips so take it with a grain of salt!
Until then,
{kiss}
As promised! Here is my yummy Sunday Shoe Porn post!
Because... who doesn't love lusting over ridiculously priced shoes?...
Speaking of shoes, I bought the most perfect pair of flatforms (finally). They were from Sears by a brand called Trend Report. Originally $35, I bought them on sale for $19.99. Tell me that isn't a steal. The straps are comfortable, the height isn't bad at all, and the color is amazingly versatile. Everything I could ask for in a flatform...for 20 bucks. I almost cried.
I'll post a picture of them later when I get a chance to wear them.
For now, please enjoy these wonderful pictures of flats, wedges, and heels~
Alexander McQueen "Suede Skull Loafer" $645
Charlotte Olympia "Wire Heel Platform Sandal" $2395
Casadei "Cutout Platform Sandal" $995
Pour La-Victoire "Suede-Platform Sandal" $250
Reed Krakoff "Slingback Architect Wedge" $795
Lanvin "Metallic Python Wedge Sandal" $1193
Enzo Angiolini "Timga Color Block" $120
Nike "Free Run 3 Running Shoe" $100
Charlotte Olympia "Ankle Strap Pump" $945
Steve Madden "Traisie" $79.95
Not sure if you guys are completely sick of me posting pictures of shoes yet (I hope not!) but I think next time, I will do a post on shoes that I really dislike/can't stand. Look forward to it!
Until then,
Hello! I hope you guys are all having a wonderfully spectacular day!
Just wanted to share a quick outfit of the day with you guys.
Today, I felt like adding a little color to my outfit. Usually, I'm all about neutrals and black from head to toe but I've got a neon tank top on today. It really is just a layering piece since my hoodie is cropped but I thought I'd share this anyway because it's a good way to integrate the neon color trend without being too flashy about it. I think it works too because of how light colored my hoodie is. I probably wouldn't try this if it were a black hoodie...
And don't you just love this dog...
Top: Forever21
Tank Top: Forever21
Bottoms: Levi Jeans in Too Superlow
Shoes: Madden Girl
Until whenever!
