Mother's Day is coming up soon so I wanted to do this post + give you guys plenty of time to start shopping! Here are FIVE gift ideas that every mom will love.

~~~
ONE - Photos
Printiki is a photo printing service where you can upload pictures directly from your computer/laptop or from social media like Instagram! It's very easy to use. You can sign in with a guest account or with Facebook, Google, etc. From there, you sign into an account to access photos or upload directly from your computer. Once they are loaded, you can add text or crop before you add them to your cart.
There's a variety of options in terms of the photos themselves. You can do square photos or rectangular photos and they also come in a retro form. You can also opt for photo books or posters if you don't want the traditional single photos. These make wonderful gifts since you can personalize them to whomever you are gifting them to.
I created a set of my own prints for my mom, with pictures of our family and places we've traveled to. I think pictures are such an intimate gift...you can't go wrong with this!
You can click here to get started: Printiki
If you need inspiration on how to decorate your space with photos, check out their Instagram!
** This part of the post was sponsored by Printiki. I was sent these items in return for a review but all opinions are my own. **
TWO - Tieks (or other comfortable flats)
If you're a mom or you are close with your mom, you'll know how tough it is to run back and forth getting things done. Whether it's driving to a soccer game, picking up groceries, or even working 8 hours a day, your mom deserves the best for her feet.
In come the Tieks.
tieks, flats, shoes, footwear, bronze, comfortable
These are buttery, soft, cushiony flats that are not only comfortable but also versatile, travel-friendly, and fashionable.
I personally love the bronze color, esp for summer because it looks so good with a tan. But they have like a million colors to choose from so chances are, you'll find one that she likes.
Click here to check it out: Tieks
Don't want to splurge $195 for flats? Here are a couple of other alternatives to check out: 1 / 2 / 3
THREE - Personalized gift box
Nothing screams 'well thought out' more than a personalized gift. By creating your own gift box, you can put virtually anything you want inside that she has been wanting to try or uses on the daily.
mother's day, gift, present, box, personalized, diy
You can also do it based on a theme like spa day or movie night, depending on what she likes. Other ideas include a gardening theme, painting theme, and photography theme.
Pop in some paint brushes, acrylic paint, mini canvases, her favorite tea/coffee, and maybe a gift card to a painting event in the local area-- you've got a personalized present that she will actually use.
FOUR - Best mom mug
It's a little cheesy, I know. But what mom doesn't want to hear they're the best?
After slaving away all day, she can kick back with a nice hot drink in her new mug. Sounds like a winner to me!
Here are three that I found on Etsy: 1 / 2 / 3
FIVE - Homecooked meal
Your mom may be the world's best cook. Now's your chance to show her you've inherited her skills (or at least paid attention once or twice while she was whipping up those meals).
There are some simple ways to plate your food so that they look fancier and more time-consuming than they actually are.
For instance, set the table with candles, clean silverware, and white plates. It'll give it a fresher look! Or go with a theme and set everything in a similar color palette.
Adding a sprig of an herb or freshly ground pepper right at the end can also make a dish look more put together.
Here are a couple of SUPER EASY recipes that you can do, whether you are a pro or not:
Quinoa & Avocado Salad / Cod Arrabbiata Pasta / Chicken Lettuce Wraps / Breakfast Pizza / Bang Bang Shrimp
** Not sponsored, I just really like her videos! **
Buzzfeed Tasty also has a ton of great recipes on their Facebook and YouTube page so be sure to check it out if you need more meal inspirations.
Hello my dears, I hope your week has been well! I can't believe it's already April. Half the year will have gone by before I know it. Anyway I'm back with another post for the Obsessed series where I share with you shoes that I am loving for the season. I decided to do something a little bit different this time and include both high end and low end options. Links to everything are down below.
As usual, sit back and relax and enjoy the eye candy!
(1) Shellys London Emma Platform $119.95
(2) McQ Chatsworth Calf Hair Oxford $$685
(3) Tod's Platform Wingtip $675
(4) AGL Pearl Slip On $495
(5) Simone Rocha Embellished Lace Up Oxford $1,320
(6) Vince Camuto Salisa Oxford Flat $118.95
~~~~~~

(1) Aldo Leishman Oxford $74.95
(2) Steve Madden TripIt $79.95
(3) Forever21 Faux Leather Platform $34.90
(4) BC Footwear Vivid Oxford $59.95
(5) Forever21 Perforated Faux Leather $19.99
(6) Forever21 Metallic Faux Patent Oxfords $22.99

*Prices may change or vary depending on when you check the website*

~~~~~~
I really like the way that oxfords add a bit of masculinity in an outfit and because they're such a "posh" shoe, it can also elevate a more casual look. As you can see in some of the ones I've selected, not all oxfords have to be chunky or manly; there are many styles that incorporate feminine details and would work wonderfully with Spring dresses and skirts!
Some of the trends for oxfords include platforms, embellishments, perforations, and cut outs. My favorite would be #5 in the high end options and #1 in the low end options. Which ones did you like the most? What other shoes are you into for this Spring? I'd love to hear your thoughts so leave them down below! Or Tweet me using the hashtag #ObsessedforSpring :)
Hi everyone!
Today, we're gonna talk about the latest handbags and shoes from Dolce & Gabbana's shop. I've paired them together for your viewing pleasure (and also because I think it looks pretty and that's what it's all about, right?). Let me know which combo was your favorite. I personally love all of these because they're just really beautifully designed. Some are a bit ornate and some are a bit playful but they're all super gorgeous and I'd love to own them all (Santa, please let me win the lottery).
Okay but enough about my sad dreams. Let's look at these beauties.
If you live anywhere where it snows incessantly, you'll know that there are specific boots you can wear in the fall and specific ones to wear in the winter. The second part of this series will focus on boots that are perfect for fall...whether it's sunny, raining, windy, or cloudy!
All of the shoes featured are my personal picks and do not necessarily reflect current trends. These are just boots that I'm lusting over and hopefully ones that you guys like as well :)
I think boots are one of the easiest kinds of shoes to wear. If you're looking for a little extra height, heeled boots can be a more comfortable option compared to stilettos. (Of course, this has limitations depending on what kind of occasion you want the heels for.)
[1] Gentle Souls Suede Moto Booties in Dark Taupe
[2] Stuart Weitzman High Street Over the Knee Boots
[3] Sam Edelman Cammie Ankle Boot
[4] Dolce Vita Hanover Fringe Booties
[5] Marc by Marc Jacobs Montague Booties
[6] Kate Spade Tracee Bow Bootie
Starting from #1, a low heeled suede boot can add a gentle and soft texture to a rougher, edgier outfit or be a perfect companion to a boho look. Next, over-the-knee boots are a must have! They are so sexy paired with a skirt or dress and you can opt for a flat pair versus a heeled one. Third, I never got over the track sole trend. I think there's something very masculine AND feminine about it at the same time. I'd recommend looking for this kind of sole if you live in places with a lot of snow because it'll help you trek through it much easier.
Moving on! We have another suede bootie but this one has a skinny heel and fringe! Yes, fringe. Okay so you'll either be totally obsessed or totally grossed out. I think fringe is cute on shoes when done properly and the stiletto makes this pair less cowboy-ish than most. Next we have a bold, red combat boot...gorgeous and unique. You can pair it with an all-black ensemble or with your cozy sweater and leggings combo. Last but not least...for all the cutesy, girly girls out there, I think this black chunky bootie with the leather bow is just beautiful. Very feminine but chic. A subtle way to incorporate a girly element to any outfit.
There you have it. I hope you enjoyed this! Leave it down below and tell me what you're go-to fall boots are! Or send me a Tweet about how you would style any of those boots :)
Bye for now,
Jenn
As with most items that I purchase, I like to thoroughly check that it's in perfect condition. After all, I'm handing over my money with the expectation that this product isn't damaged so of course, I need to pay extra attention before I bring it home.
When it comes to shoes, I seem to go over the top in playing Inspector. Although shoes will get busted and worn over time, I like to make sure that there are no defects and that these shoes will actually last me. So what do I look for when I shop for shoes?
COMFORT
No matter how good a shoe looks and how close it is to what I'm searching for, I always have to consider its comfort. For me, a shoe is useless if I can't wear it for more than an hour. I need to at least be able to walk in it without wanting to change out of it. (The only exception I have for this is heels but let's dive into that later). With comfort as my priority, I'll check to see if there are any stitches that rub against my foot the wrong way. Next, I'll look at the cushioning. Not all comfortable shoes need to have a cushion but I give it extra brownie points if it does. Then I'll see if the front of the shoe is too narrow or wide. You want the shoe to look flattering but if it's too narrow, your toes will pinch together and if it's too wide, your feet will look bigger than they actually are. Finally, I'll look to see if the sides of the shoe are rubbing under my ankles the wrong way. This is a personal issue. There are a lot of flats and heels that fall right under my ankle bone and it just hurts when I walk. I will also check to make sure the back of the shoe doesn't rub because I am not about that blister life.
MATERIAL
After that, I have to consider how it's made. The one thing I can't stand is buying specifically boots that are glued down to the sole. If you've ever bought a cheap pair of boots, you'll know what I'm talking about. There's a thin film of glue holding everything together and I just can't trust that it'll hold up to New England weather. My favorite and personal preference is when you can see a stitching around the shoe and the sole. I feel that it's more secure and less likely to open up after a couple of wears. In my experience, these kinds of boots have lasted me the longest. For other shoes like sandals, I look at what it's made out of. For sneakers, my main priority is if it feels stiff or not. Depending on the material, some sneakers can feel very suffocating so I try to avoid that.
SOLE
Lastly, I will check the sole. A lot of shoes are made with a very smooth and slippery-feeling sole. While it adds a very sleek and luxurious look to the shoe, it's highly impractical for walking on smooth floors. I don't know about you but I certainly don't want to fall on my butt like that. Even though they have those grip things you can stick to the bottom, it just isn't the same as having a sole with some traction to it. I'm partial to rubber soles because they don't slip and it's okay to wear when it rains or snows outside.
source
EXCEPTIONS
Like I mentioned, heels can be an exception to an extent. I still highly value a shoe that has comfort but if I can't wear it for over an hour, it's okay as long as it doesn't rub against my foot the wrong way. I only ever wear heels for formal events and because it's not an everyday shoe for me, I don't consider how long I can actually wear them for. If I do need to wear a heel for a longer period of time, I'll find a wedge heel. There's more stability and it's still classy. After that, pretty much everything else applies. The material has to be nice (preferably leather) and the soles can't be slippery. I mean, high heels + slippery sole is just asking for a disaster.
Those are all my tips for buying shoes! What are some of your tips and tricks? Is there anything you absolutely must have in a shoe before buying it?!
Autumn will always be my favorite season and I can confidently say that there are plenty of people who will agree with me! The smell of warm cinnamon candles burning, deep red and orange leaves scattered around the front door, and the coziest of sweaters to snuggle into.
I love this time of the year.
So, naturally, I thought I'd share with you all some of my wishlist items for this season and maybe you'll find something you like too :)
Hello!
Have you guys been well? This is going to be my first official post marking the beginning of a fabulous homework-free summer. Yayyy, cue the fanfare and majestic cheers.
Even though I've been SUPER busy with school, you know there's always time for window shopping and the warm weather could not have gotten here sooner. I am so excited to wear flowy skirts and bright colors. Ah, bliss.
So I will kick start this summer with a post on my spring/summer wishlist items, just bits and bobs that I'd really love to buy (mainly because they're so cute and/or gorgeous).
Okay enough with my mini ranting, I hope you enjoy this post and of course, let me know what you're most excited for this summer!
Floral Chambray Romper with Belt
Black Cat Crop Top
Julep Dress
Flower Print Dress
Sierra Bag
Buckle Sandal
Josie Wedge
Soiree Platform
Alexi Studded Oxford
Is anyone else totally obsessed with white shoes during the summer? I just love how clean it looks.
If you liked any of these, just click on the name of the product and it'll take you directly to the product page. I think hands down my favorite color for this season is a coral/orange fusion because the warm tone looks great on tanned skin and because it's really pretty.
...and I'll leave it at that!
