Hello dears! How has your week been so far? I bet a lot of you are happy that it's finally Friday! What are your plans for this weekend? I think I'm going to go hiking and probably just eat a lot, which isn't anything new. Since classes have started again this week, I have just been mindlessly getting work done (and unfortunately, the weekend is no exception!).

Like I mentioned in my last post, I am trying to bring back some of the series that I started a while ago but forgot about. The Fashion Icon series is one of them! This is where I highlight one particular individual or group that has been a huge inspiration to my style or just someone whose style I greatly admire. This week, I wanted to talk about Ingrid Nilsen. Perhaps many of you know her through her YouTube channel, where she creates a mix of content from advice videos to beauty to fashion. In addition to her style, I also just really like her personality (as far as I can see from how she portrays herself on the Internet). She's not afraid to speak up, which makes her a role model in many ways!

If I had to describe her fashion sense, I would probably say that it's down to earth but when she glams up, she's glammed up. It has a very New England, JCrew, preppy vibe to it, which I personally enjoy. I love scrolling through her Instagram posts to find new ways to style my own clothes, since I do actually live in New England where fashion isn't exactly top priority during the winter time.

I will post a couple of my favorite outfits from her here (disclaimer: all images were taken from her Instagram page. the links are below each image). Please let me know which is your favorite or if you like Ingrid's style as well!

How are you guys this week? If anything exciting or fun has happened, I'd love to hear about it! I've honestly been swamped with assignments for school and I am dying to get out of the house this weekend :)

~~~
Today, I'm going to talk about one of my favorite fashion icons of the moment. Dani Song.
If you've never heard of her, definitely check out her blog and Instagram because her pictures are gorgeous. I would describe her style as urban chic. So in love with her recent outfits for NYFW.
I will leave some of her Instagram pics down below. Comment and tell me who your fashion icon at the moment is!
Jenn {haha, coincidentally we have the same name!} is definitely someone I look to for fashion inspiration and I also just really like her attitude and the way she presents herself on camera. Originally, her youtube channel, ClothesEncounters, was done by both her and her best friend, Sarah. I think, now, it's just Jenn running the channel due to the fact that she's moved to college.
If I had to describe her style, it would definitely be very punk-esque and grungy mixed with feminine boho accents but it's also hard to pinpoint it to just a few genres because it seems that she's always finding interesting pieces that are somewhat hard to put into words.
Probably one of my favorite things about her is that she doesn't wear clothes that follow the trends 100%. She buys pieces that fit her style and are things that she really likes. So often, I'll notice beauty or fashion gurus on youtube buy clothes that move with the seasons... especially recently, I've seen an overload of chiffon blouses and high low skirts. Not that I don't appreciate those types of clothes or that kind of style, but once in a while, I'd like to see someone stick to their own aesthetic.
Oh, and, as if you couldn't already guess, I'm also insanely jealous of her shoe collection.
I wholeheartedly recommend that you check out her tumblr and youtube! She's really amazing and fun to watch. I've learned a lot of fashion tips and ideas from watching her channel :) Can't rave enough!
Until then,
If I was asked whether or not I had someone I looked up to or idolized in the fashion industry, I probably wouldn't be able to answer right off the bat because there isn't one particular person or brand that I love in its entirety.
But... if I did have some sort of list... Rumi Neely would be at the top.
...her and Jenn from ClothesEncounters.
If you don't already know who she is, you should check out her blog, Fashiontoast.com!
She's a model, photographer, and fashion blogger from San Diego and constantly travels to New York and Tokyo. She's modeled for Forever21 before and many other magazines.
Her style is a mixture of tidy and messy, slightly risque, and a little more hippie-esque than my own style but I like the way she orchestrates her outfits. The way she dresses has a very put together but purposely loose feel. It never looks overdone. She's also one of the few people who, I think, have a knack for bringing out their best qualities through clothing. Some struggle to wear pieces that slim them and some have zero regard for anything of that nature. She knows how to stay true to her style, in a way that makes her body look good.
One of my favorite aspects about her blog is the high quality photos, the shoes, and being able to see how she lives her life. It's all very intriguing.
Not to mention her awesome hair.
I adore looking at her outfit photos for my own inspiration and just ideas on how to wear what I've got. She's also one of the main reasons I've been so flatform-crazy lately.
Tell me she isn't amazing.
I am so much in love.
Until next,
{kisses to you}
