It's already halfway through April-- I almost can't believe how fast 2017 has gone. In a week or so, I'll be getting my wisdom teeth taken out...not fun. Still haven't sorted out what I want to buy for my boyfriend's mom for Mother's Day (although, if you need some ideas, here's my latest gift guide: click). I also bought an iPhone 7 recently after most of you guys suggested it and I'm completely in love with the fact that it's pink!

I don't have a lot of plans for this weekend but if you guys are doing anything fun,
share it down below!

I thought I would keep this post simple + share with you NINE of my favorite bloggers at the moment. Be sure to tweet me if they are also your favorites~

Have you ever watched a TV show and thought, "wow, I really understand what XYZ is going through"? After rewatching Friends for the 100th time on Netflix, I realized how much I related to the characters. That's probably also why it's such an easy show to rewatch.

What are these 'life lessons', you ask?

I've gathered a couple of my favorite moments in the show and hope that you get something out of this post (besides a few chuckles).

#1: Be proud of your body! It doesn't matter what size or color or shape you are. Don't let others make you feel inferior about it. EMBRACE YOURSELF!!

via GIPHY
#2: Don't be afraid to say no. It can be easy to tell a white lie and try to do a favor for a friend or get involved with something you don't believe in. You don't always have to reject a prospect in a negative way-- be honest about what YOU want.

via GIPHY
#3: Be proud of who you are. Don't grovel. Don't belittle yourself or your abilities. Have some confidence! You are amazing!!

via GIPHY
#4: So you may not be the smoothest when it comes to dating or flirting. So what? I say, be your weird awkward self! You'll be much happier to find someone who appreciates all your quirky personality traits.

via GIPHY
#5: Safety first. Don't get in the car with a drunk friend. Don't get in the car with a friend who can't drive. And always, always have your seatbelt on!

via GIPHY
#6: The world is a wonderful and magical place. But bad things happen. People die. Diseases exist. Poverty exists! It's a harsh reality and I think sometimes, it's important to take a step back from your own life to remember that.

via GIPHY
#7: Teamwork is important! There are things you can accomplish in a group that you can't do just on your own.

via GIPHY
#8: Be sincere. Whether you are apologizing or telling a story or getting to know someone, be sincere in whatever you do.

via GIPHY
#9: Celebrate your achievements! It can be something small like finishing a crossword puzzle on your own or something big like finishing your research project for grad school or something super big like crossing the finish line in a marathon! There can be so many moments in your life to be grateful for...be proud!

via GIPHY
#10: Own up to your mistakes. We're human. We mess up sometimes (or a lot of the times) but it's okay. This is how we grow and become better versions of ourselves. On that note, also don't be afraid to fail! The road to success starts with failure.

via GIPHY
#11: You're going to have some bad days. Let's be real here. It can be tough to stay positive and happy when that happens. But it's never good to send out negative vibes. Don't take your anger, frustration, or sadness OUT on somebody else. DO talk to someone about your feelings and find healthy ways to release those emotions (e.g. boxing, cycling, running, painting).

Okay, YOUR TURN! Tell me your favorite moments from Friends in the comments below :)

Hello my dears! I'm posting a bit earlier than usual since I have some time to sit down and write. This week, I ventured into uncharted territory (at least for me). Menswear has always been something I admired but never talked about. Truthfully, I don't know much but I would like to try and give my honest review on a collection that I fell in love with: Michael Bastian's Fall 2016 line. Maybe you'll fall in love, too.

If I had to describe the general feel of the collection, I would say that it's quirky but also preppy? It's pleasing to the eye and actually very wearable as far as designer pieces go. I think it's also fun to look at menswear for inspiration! It can be nice to change your perspective from always scrolling through women's clothing to seeing what's hip and happening for the guys. There's one look in particular that I think would be stunning with heels (you'll see what I mean).

All of these looks can be found here: click me!

With that, please enjoy the review (and the handsome models).

~~~~~~~~~
LOOK 3: I love the model's hairstyle. It's sleek but not overly done. The brown of the leather jacket and the blue of the button-up shirt makes it a very warm look. I think the contrast of the jacket and the unbuttoned shirt also gives it a fun, sexy flair. What really surprises me, however, is the grey pants! The cool tones work unexpectedly well with the warm tones.
LOOK 6: This outfit is great. I can see a lot of guys wearing this because it's pretty casual but there are a very elements that pull it all together. The jacket? Perfect. It's simple. There aren't a lot of unnecessary details or bright colors, which means that it will work with whatever you wear underneath. The pants? Awesome. The olive color can be a different neutral to add to the wardrobe and it's more versatile than you think! The boots? Amazing. I'd love to find the women's equivalent.
LOOK 8: I really like the plain black sunglasses. I think it toughens the outfit a bit. The blazer, turtleneck, and bottoms all look very soft and I don't mean just the texture. The whole look is very mild (compared to something hard like leather). This is the outfit I was talking about in the beginning! I think pairing a slouchy turtleneck with a soft blazer and skinny pants would be a really lovely outfit with heels. It's chic but just slightly masculine. Anyway, back to this. I do have mixed feelings about the pockets on the pants. I feel like it kind of ruins the outfit but maybe it's just me??
LOOK 9: The color of the beanie works well with the other colors here. It lightens up the darker tones like the gray sweats and navy top. Actually I really don't like sweatpants on guys because it can look sloppy but the fit of these aren't bad. It goes with the less structured jacket and beanie. Last but not least are the boots. I love brown boots. They're so down to earth and functional.
LOOK 15: I thought this was such a fun look because of all the layers! Turtleneck under a collared shirt isn't something I would have personally styled but it's pretty nice. Since they're all darker colors, it's also not that noticeable. The lighter grey vest? Probably my favorite piece from this outfit. It pops out against everything else... a very stylish item to have for Fall. But what is happening with the shoes??? No socks?! Seems a bit out of place, to be honest.
LOOK 19: I have nothing against bow ties! They're super cute and more playful than neckties but because this outfit seemed borderline school-uniform, it might have looked better with a sleek tie...without the sweater. But it's a pretty classic combo and I do think it's a versatile outfit for colder months. I think the designer made a good decision to pair with black pants and black boots because it looks more mature that way. I would have also considered pairing some kind of wool coat to brighten the ensemble but otherwise, it's a solid look.
What did you guys think? Which look was your favorite?
As per request, I am thinking of styling outfits based on The Divergent Series: Allegiant for my next post so be on the lookout for it!
There's a small post on Seventeen Mag's Fashion Blog section that talks about one of Rihanna's recent outfits in NYC where she sports a blush pink bandeau and a matching color high low skirt with black converses.
Click here to visit the actual post!
The person who wrote the post talked about how Rihanna has the body to pull off such a look, even though it may be a bit too revealing for the average person.
While everyone is entitled the freedom to wear what they want, since everyone does have a different style, I think Rihanna's outfit was border unstylish...and just plain weird.
She should have gone with a corset or a bralette if she wanted that look and then paired it with the skirt and some sandals. That way, a little bit of her stomach would be peeping out, giving it a less risque feel but still maintaining that type of style.
Another option could have been throwing a blazer over the bandeau to at least cover some of the skin from her arms and shoulders and then putting some heels on to elongate the silhouette.
Also, if she really wanted to do a ballerina meets rocker type of ensemble, I would've opted for combat boots or black flatforms instead of converses. The shoes seem too out of place and the skirt swallows up her legs. Overall, it's an extremely unflattering outfit.
Anyway.
That's all I have to say about that! Let me know in the comments what you guys think about this. Yay or nay?
Until next,
{kisses!}
It pretty much has nothing to do with fashion...
but I couldn't resist :')
So for now, (or forever), these little babies will remain the default backdrop of my fashion blog.
P.S. I really hope no one minds. or hates cats.
Good morning to all!
Just a quick post/question. And, don't worry, I will definitely have an actual new post in a bit!
But I was just wondering what your favorite fashion websites/blogs were. I'm looking for a new place to find fashion news and updates.
Any input would really help :)
Until my next post,
{kisses and more kisses}
